As a therapist, I've come to realize that there are only two types of people who come to me: those who seek validation, who aren't ready to make changes, and those who want resolution, who realize the importance of change that can only come from within. The only way to overcome dependency is to start with introspection, and these cards do just that. They prompt you to reflect on where you find yourself in life, enabling you to make the necessary changes for a better future.

As a longtime member of 12-step recovery, I've learned that growth happens one honest reflection at a time. These cards help me look deeper—especially on days when the words won't come. That's why they're always beside my journal. They help me begin.

I love the format... It's like a handbook for conscientious living, broken up into bite-sized thoughts that I can easily fit into my daily life... and my back pocket... Thoughts that provoke a deep and focused exploration of one topic per week, while promoting a consistent practice... On my own schedule... 10/10 I'd read them again! I'll definitely be passing on a set to friend this year.

Depth, Dignity & Wholeness.

Recovery isn't a destination—it's a daily practice of honoring that life has two competing energies—and that tension IS recovery: radical love and honest reckoning, held together.
‍
The work is hard—and resistance, uncertainty, and fear are part of the process, not signs you're doing it wrong.

You don't need to have it figured out. You just need to start where you are—but don't stay there!

ABOUT MICHAEL LEONARDINI

NOT A THERAPIST, NOT A GURU—JUST A FELLOW SOJOURNER.

Michael Leonardini is an award-winning Creative Director, writer, and designer with nearly 20 years creating brand work and telling stories. Professionally trained in creative problem-solving, overthinking, and—as he'd tell you—not feeling good enough.

SONJOY was born from seventeen years sober, a relapse that broke him open, and the work of becoming whole again.

He's learned that recovery is a creative act, and the gift of recovery is radical love. Not the passive kind that swallows the sword. Not the retaliatory kind that punches back. This love responds to hurt with justice and compassion—and refuses to keep hurting ourselves.
